A bit more about me…

I am an opera singer, contralto. I’ve worked as a soloist on London and International stages and a teacher for more than 30 years. You can find me online, with my baroque group The Frolick, or singing Mahler, on iTunes.

I am the founder of Ceremony Matters which provides trainings, conferences, support and mentoring to celebrants and other funeral professionals. I believe that a funeral ceremony can be helpful and supportive, it can and should reflect the person who died throughout and there is no need for any one-size-fits-all’/generic wording unless that’s what you really want. I believe that everyone deserves an appropriate and meaningful ceremony.

I run Death Cafes, because they are a wonderful, life-affirming way to talk about death.

You Deserve to Feel Strong, Confident and Resilient in Performance. I can help.

Hello, I’m Emma. .

My pronouns are She/Her.

My Background and Approach

People look at me and they tell me they see confidence, resilience and success. These are learnt skills. I have learnt, over the last 30 years in professional life that whatever lemons life has given us, we can still work with ourselves to be stronger, more resilient, improve our performance and, frankly, find life easier. My work is always centred around my client’s way of being – your values, beliefs and life experience. I work collaboratively and flexibly. I’m a creative person with a trauma-informed, multi-modal approach to counselling and hypnotherapy. Everything I have learnt, as an operatic soloist on international stages, as a psychological therapist, from my research in Psychology and from teaching presentation and communication skills to hundreds of people, I can share with you to help get you where you want to be.
